10.0.0.1 is a special router login IP reserved. Many companies such as Sitecom use 10.0.0.1 as the default router gateway from which all of your
internet traffic flows. This IP can also be used to log in to your modem’s web management portal.

How to use 10.0.0.1 to login to Router
It’s so easy, but you must be sure that your IP for router login is 10.0.0.1 before you proceed. This is because, among other things, many router companies use IPs such as 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.254 (whose full list is given here for each company). It’s important to learn that you can have trouble using the wrong IP.
Step No. 1 Simply enter your login IP in the browser address bar (e.g. 10.0.0.1 in our case) and hit Enter key. If the login window appears you have completed Step No. 1 successfully. Now you can skip the paragraph below and proceed to Step No. 2. Otherwise, if an error occurs, your router will have a different IP.
How can I find the correct login IP for the router?
It’s as simple as 1, 2, and 3! Just follow the following steps:
Finding Windows Router IP
Press and hold Windows Taste + R on your keyboard.
In the Open field, enter “cmd” and press step 2 of OK windows, enter “ipconfig” and press[ Enter] in the Command Prompt window.
The numbers on the Default Gateway section are the IP address of your router.

Finding Router IP in MAC
New versions of OS X also shows the router IP included in the detailed network data displayed when option-clicking on the Wi-Fi menu as it fits in with troubleshooting, but in previous releases of Mac OS X you won’t find it there, and fortunately it’s not exactly difficult to click through system preference either to uncover this information.
Mac step Either method can be used to uncover the IP address of the routers, but obviously using the Wi-Fi menu only works to uncover the IP of the routers if it is a wireless network, whereas the system preference method works regardless of whether it is a wired or wireless network router.

Internet, this can be obtained by typing in the command line the following:
curl whatismyip.org
This will return your Mac or router’s IP as it would be accessible from the internet and from outside world, which is different from the router IP
you use to connect locally.
Step No. 2 Simply go to your internet browser’s address bar once you have the correct login IP, paste it and hit Enter key. A pop-up or page that requests login username & password will be opened. Try the default username / IP printer at the top or bottom of your modem on a sticker. Spot the sticker to find information. Or we’ve already compiled for 270+ router companies a list of most likely usernames / passwords.
However, if in the past you changed the username / pass info, you must enter it as it is. But if you don’t remember it anymore, don’t panic-just follow below.
But what if I forgot my Password & Username?
There’s a quick little trick to get you out of trouble and end your frustration if you don’t remember the changed username / password. Hold your router in your hands and spot only 1-2 mm in size for a small hole.
The reset button is located here. Press the button inside the hole using a paperclip, needle or pin (don’t worry it’s a normal procedure) and press for at least 10 seconds. Start the router afterwards. Your router has now been set to default factor settings-you can use the default username / password from the router sticker (look for it, you’ll find it quickly on the bottom or especially on the sides).
Put that info into the fields and hit Enter key and Hurray! You just logged into your router successfully.
